Street Outreach

The Street Outreach program provides homeless and high-risk youth with on-the-street support and information from trained Peer Outreach Workers (POWs). POWs, ages 15-19, have an in-depth understanding of Ozone House services and why youth may need these services.

If you are interested in becoming a POW, you may fill out the Peer Outreach Worker Application and send it to Jochebed Swilley. You also must plan to attend the Peer Outreach Worker Institute, a week-long, twenty-hour training at the end of September.

“Poetry [programs at the Ypsilanti Drop-In Center] helped me express myself, and I’ve had a chance to share my message with others through the Peer Outreach Program. ”

Meghan, former Peer Outreach Worker and freshman at NYU
