YOUTH OUTREACH, SAFETY and TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM

Ozone House partners with the Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority (AAATA) aka The Ride to site our Transportation and Community Outreach Coordinator at the Ypsilanti Transit Center and on key bus routes with high youth ridership.  This partnership supports young people and community members with a focus on outreach and relationship building, crisis prevention and intervention, and resource support. Our staff supports bus drivers throughout the transit system to engage, respond and intervene with youth in a non-punitive and supportive way. The safety of all riders is improved when the needs of youth and the problems they experience are better understood and supported.

Other transportation help:

  • We help youth get a ride to their home school if their living situation is unstable
  • We help youth access reduced fare cards to make sure they can get to work and school

The Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority (AAATA) aka The Ride, is a not-for-profit unit of government that operates the local public transit system for the greater Ann Arbor-Ypsilanti area. AAATA enables our area's residents to reach their destinations at reasonable cost, and offers the region efficient, environmentally sound transportation alternatives.

I came to Ozone House because I had no place to stay due to conflict with my mom.
