Ozone House partners with the Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority (AAATA) aka The Ride to site our Transportation and Community Outreach Coordinator at the Ypsilanti Transit Center and on key bus routes with high youth ridership.  This partnership supports young people and community members with a focus on outreach and relationship building, crisis prevention and intervention, and resource support. Our staff supports bus drivers throughout the transit system to engage, respond and intervene with youth in a non-punitive and supportive way. The safety of all riders is improved when the needs of youth and the problems they experience are better understood and supported.

Many people still think homeless kids are all drug addicts, high school dropouts, or from poor families. People think homeless youth deserve to be homeless, that they did that to themselves. That just isn’t true.
