WorkZone
Applications due Wednesday, May 8th

The next round of Ozone House's job training and internship program, WorkZone, will begin on Monday, May 20th. In WorkZone, participants ages 18-20 complete a 9-day training to learn basic job skills (like interviewing and resume writing), complete an interview with a local nonprofit or business, and have an opportunity for a 100-hour paid internship. WorkZone applications are due May 8th. If you or somebody you know is interested, please contact Colleen O'Brien at cobrien@ozonehouse.org for more information. Please note that all participants must complete both a WorkZone application and an Ozone House Intake appointment before training starts.
Replacements Fest

The band 40 Stitches Later is hosting a benefit for Ozone House at Woodruff's in Ypsi. Participating bands will play songs by The Replacements and inspired by The Replacements. In celebration of 120 years of service, United Bank & Trust is giving away $1,200 to nonprofits in each of the four counties that they serve. Between now and Friday, April 5th, you can nominate Ozone House as your favorite nonprofit in Washtenaw County! If Ozone House is in the Top 3 in Washtenaw County, based on the number of nominations, we will move onto the voting round that will run from April 15th - April 30th. Ring in the New Year with Ozone House

Adopt an Ozone House family this holiday season! Ozone House case managers and therapists will get "wish lists" from families or individuals involved with our services who have the highest need. You will be matched based on the size of family that you feel you can "adopt" for the holidays. You will get their "wish list" and then the fun starts - because you get to go shopping. We will arrange for a drop-off date for you to bring in your wrapped gifts to Ozone House so we can distribute them before the holidays. Interested? "Santa's Beauties" - Entertainment show to benefit Ozone House

Boylesque helps make a difference with "Santa's Beauties," a benefit for Ozone House (ages 18+). This event will feature Chanel Hunter, Jadein Black, Crystal Harding, and live vocalist Renea Rashell. Hip-hop collective The Coup concert to benefit Ozone House

Jeff Clark and Jennifer Trombley, organizers with the Washtenaw Eviction and Foreclosure Defense, are putting together a fundraiser for Ozone House with The Coup, a hip-hop collective based in Oakland, CA. The Coup are adding a stop to their national tour right here in Ypsilanti to hold a benefit concert for Ozone House (ages 21+)! Only 180 tickets are available for the concert. Anybody who donates $25 or more to the Kickstarter event page will automatically receive a ticket to the event. Please stay tuned for more information.
PrideZone Open House

Crisis Line Training

Ozone House is always seeking compassionate volunteers to become Crisis Line counselors. Crisis Line volunteers listen and provide critical information, referrals, and crisis intervention to youth and families struggling with such issues as family conflict, runaway episodes, homelessness, suicide, abuse and neglect, domestic violence, sexual orientation and gender identity, and other crises. Education Project for Homeless Youth School Supply Drive
Wednesday, August 1st - Sunday, August 26th

Support Washtenaw County students who are living in homeless and temporary situations. Between August 1st and August 26th, you can drop off school supplies in the phone room at Ozone House. Needed items include backpacks, binders, highlighters, protractors, rulers, compasses, and travel-size soap, shampoo, deodorant, combs, toothbrushes and toothpaste. Please note: Pencils, blue and black pens, and crayons are not needed.
